Gam-Anon is a fellowship for the spouses, family, and friends of compulsive gamblers. It offers mutual support to people affected by someone else's gambling, separate from Gamblers Anonymous.

Common questions about Gam-Anon

Are Gam-Anon meetings free and anonymous?
Yes. Gam-Anon meetings are free to attend — no dues, fees, referral, or insurance needed — and anonymity is a core principle, so you can come as you are. Anyone who wants help is welcome.
Can I attend Gam-Anon meetings online?
Many Gam-Anon groups meet online as well as in person. The official Gam-Anon finder lists current online meetings.
Is Gam-Anon for families of problem gamblers?
Yes — for spouses, partners, parents, and other loved ones affected by someone's gambling. You can attend whether or not the gambler is in recovery.
What's the difference between Gamblers Anonymous and Gam-Anon?
GA is for a person's own gambling recovery; Gam-Anon is for the people affected by it. Your reason for coming decides which fits.
Do I have to be religious to join Gam-Anon?
No. Gam-Anon welcomes people of any religion or none. The program is usually described as spiritual rather than religious, and many areas offer secular, agnostic, or non-religious meetings.
